Conrad qualified with CIMA at the Financial Times before moving to Asia and the Near East, where he pioneered BPO and overseas sourcing, later becoming Managing Director with ICD. Returning to the UK, he co-founded one of the early search and digital marketing agencies, Weboptimiser, where he served as investor and CEO.

He went on to co-found and serve as Director of The Marketing Group Plc, a NASDAQ First North listed entity. Under his leadership, it became one of the fastest-growing, technology-led marketing groups in that market’s history, reaching a market capitalisation of £260m through a highly acquisitive growth strategy.
